Acceptance
JET Program, Japan April 10th, 2002Yesterday, sometime around 2p.m. my father called my cel for the second time. It sounded grave at first, I thought I was going to hear bad news. It turns out I made it. I think I’m going to Japan. I received paperwork from the Consulate. There is a (and I quote) “98%” chance of acceptance now.
This month, last year, I sat distraught because I was rejected from the program. Now I have a good chance of going. I don’t know what to expect there. But I know I want to go. I know it’s going to be very difficult and discouraging at times, but inspiring and amazing at times as well.
I need a laptop, a videocam, and a still cam. And I’m good to go.
This brings the question, “What about the other projects?”. YKP will have to stay online but be on hold. I will do some remaining updates before putting an away sign on it for a bit. Video projects-wise I will always have them in written form, so they aren’t going anywhere. I still want to make one video before I go, at least. Probably one at most.
A lot of things are going to be on hold. It’ll be a little strange.
