San Diego Skyline: San Diego, California
March was a difficult time because I spent most of my waking hours at work. Even without a very active social life, spending all my time at work launched a wave of introspection and mild depression. I was yearning for time off but it was a critical time for the project in which I was involved.
One weekend I needed to get my car fixed. My friend, Bob, picked me up while the Corolla was in for repairs and took me around San Diego.
The only memory I had of San Diego was "Sea World", and that was when I was a boy. So, in some actuality, I had never really "been" to San Diego.
I saw downtown, the gaslamp district and Petco Park among other things. I spent most of my years growing up not far from Los Angeles, and that's the only big city I was really accustomed to seeing. When I finally saw what another city looked like, the differences were immediate. For one, I began to like San Diego more.
Not far off from noon, Bob took me to this sandy area right next to an apartment complex across from downtown. There was no one around, which was strange to me. We crossed the Coronado Bridge to get to that spot in the picture. I heard the bridge is infamous for suicides. It's quite sad.
San Diego felt like a nice place, even though I skimmed the surface just once.
